AT long last someone addresses the urgent matter of greetings. I have been wondering about these phrases ever since I set foot in the Middle East.
I comment as follows (after greetings):
Since the letter opens "After greetings" (although I couldn't find these preceding greetings anywhere in the letter), it is only logical that any subsequent greetings are final ones. Until the next letter. Perhaps "After greetings" really means after the "final greetings" of any preceding letter, i.e. maintaining continuity in space and time of an ongoing relationship among human beings. Although in this case one should prehaps sign off with "Interim final greetings" - being prior to any future greetings which would be "After preceding interim final greetings".

Thanks very much. Regarding your message, it is all much clearer to me now.
Among those who speak English (or more precisely in my case, those who pretend to), it's common to sign electronic messages "Regards" or "Best Regards". I've even seen "Kind Regards" on more than one occasion.
I have a colleague who depending on the circumstances uses those variants along with Disregards, No Regards, and my all time favorite Beau Regards. I shall try to find an occasion to send him an email with "Final Regards".
